Surprise Proposal Photography at Europa Village Winery, Temecula
Michael and Kristina’s surprise proposal at Europa Village Winery was the definition of calm planning meeting real emotion. Just days into the new year, Michael reached out with a last-minute request to plan a proposal in Temecula. With flexibility on timing and a clear vision centered around Europa Village, we mapped out a precise timeline, scouted the property early, and coordinated quietly behind the scenes. Inspired by the architecture and charm of Europe, Europa Village offers intimate corners that feel transported from Spain, Italy, and France—making it one of the most romantic winery proposal locations in Temecula Wine Country. As Michael led Kristina toward the C’est La Vie gazebo, a simple request for a photo turned into a perfectly timed proposal. With laughter, emotion, and effortless movement through the winery, the day ended at the Vienna tasting room surrounded by warmth and celebration. A seamless start to the new year and a reminder that the best surprise proposals are built on trust, preparation, and experience.
Some surprise proposals don’t come together months in advance. Some happen because timing aligns, trust is built quickly, and everyone involved knows how to move with intention.
Late Friday evening, just as the new year began, Michael reached out with a message we see often—but never take lightly:
“Hey, Happy New Year. I hope you see this. I need a photographer for a proposal on January 3 in Temecula. I know it’s last minute, but I’m hoping there’s a chance.”
At the time, we were already booked for another surprise proposal in San Diego. Instead of turning him away, we asked the most important questions: where and when. Michael’s response said everything we needed to know—he was flexible on timing and had his heart set on proposing at Europa Village Winery in Temecula.
That instantly mattered to us. Europa Village isn’t just another winery—it’s a thoughtfully designed property inspired by Spain, Italy, and France, with European architecture, winding pathways, and intimate corners that feel transported from overseas. We’re former members, longtime visitors, and deeply familiar with how light, crowds, and movement flow across the property. That local knowledge is exactly what makes a Temecula surprise proposal feel effortless.
Surprise Proposal Photography at Europa Village Winery, Temecula shows how European-inspired architecture, vineyard views, and golden-hour light create unforgettable “yes” moments. Planning a Winery Surprise Proposal in Temecula
Once timing was confirmed, we locked in a 3:30 PM arrival with a proposal window just before 4:00 PM at the C’est La Vie gazebo—one of the most romantic, tucked-away locations on the property. From there, we mapped a full timeline, dropped GPS pins, and coordinated quietly behind the scenes.
Michael also let us know a videographer would be joining to capture the moment. We connected on-site with A Good Story Company, aligned cues, and adjusted pacing so both photo and video unfolded seamlessly.
We arrived early—just after 2:00 PM—to scout, test light, and position ourselves long before Michael and Kristina arrived. When they parked, Oscar needed a few extra minutes to finish setting up. Michael calmly stalled, trusted the process, and waited for our signal.
The Moment It All Clicked
As they walked toward us, Michael approached and asked if we could take a photo of them. We said yes—snapped a few frames—then offered to switch to our camera.
That was the cue.
Michael dropped to one knee, Kristina realized what was happening, and the entire world narrowed into that one moment. No distractions. No rush. Just real emotion, laughter, and relief as she said yes.
From there, we flowed naturally through Europa Village—moving from C’est La Vie to the Vienna tasting room—capturing candid reactions, quiet conversations, and the energy that only comes after a successful surprise proposal.
A Strong Start to the New Year
This Temecula winery surprise proposal was the perfect reminder of why preparation, location expertise, and calm coordination matter. A last-minute request turned into a flawlessly executed engagement—proof that when the right team is in place, even short timelines can lead to unforgettable moments.
If you’re planning a surprise proposal at Europa Village Winery, or searching for an experienced Temecula surprise proposal photographer who understands timing, discretion, and storytelling, this is exactly how it should feel—natural, intentional, and completely yours.

Surprise Proposal at Churon Winery | Temecula Proposal Photography
Early one November morning, Branden reached out with a clear vision—to propose to his girlfriend Elena at Churon Winery while visiting California from Omaha, Nebraska. Drawn to the winery’s iconic gazebo and timeless architecture, he carefully planned every detail from afar. As December 23 approached, the only uncertainty was the weather. Forecasted rain threatened the day, but instead Temecula delivered soft overcast skies that created cinematic, diffused light. With a carefully coordinated cover story and seamless collaboration with the winery team, Branden and Elena were guided toward the gazebo, unaware a proposal was moments away. As Branden dropped to one knee, Elena’s joyful yes echoed through the courtyard—an intimate, emotional moment captured exactly as it unfolded. The session continued with relaxed portraits around the gazebo and courtyard, preserving not just a proposal, but the quiet connection and excitement of a couple beginning their next chapter together.
Early in the morning on November 13, we received a new inquiry from Branden. His message was simple and direct: he was hoping to schedule a photographer to capture his proposal to his girlfriend, Elena, at Churon Winery on December 23. Branden and Elena were flying in from Omaha, Nebraska to visit family, and although Branden had never been to the winery himself, he had seen photos and videos of the property and instantly fell in love with the elegance of the gazebo and surrounding grounds.
Surprise Proposal at Churon Winery | Temecula Proposal Photography shows how rolling vineyards, warm light, and thoughtful timing create a timeless “yes.” From coordinating with winery spaces to choosing the perfect moment, we’ll help you plan and capture a proposal that feels effortless and deeply personal.

From the start, this proposal was all about thoughtful planning. We went back and forth finalizing details, timelines, and logistics, while Branden coordinated directly with the winery to secure their gazebo proposal package. Once the date was locked in, we connected with Vanessa, who handles events at Churon, to ensure every moving piece was aligned. With a clear timeline in place and strong communication across the board, everything was set—on paper.
The only lingering concern was the weather. Proposals in California during this time of year always come with a small question mark. Rain had been forecasted, and while that can sometimes force last-minute pivots, the day surprised us. Instead of showers, we were met with overcast skies—soft clouds that diffused the light beautifully and created ideal conditions for photography.
We arrived early on the day of the proposal, checked in with Vanessa, and were given a guided walk-through to the gazebo. The cover story was seamless: Branden and Elena were told they would be meeting Vanessa at the front for a guided wine tour. Instead, they were gently led toward the gazebo, where we were already in position, camera in hand, capturing the quiet anticipation as they approached.
As they walked down the stairs toward the gazebo, Branden took a breath, stepped forward, and dropped to one knee. Elena’s reaction was immediate and emotional—pure surprise followed by a joyful yes. Every second of that moment was captured discreetly, preserving the authenticity of the proposal exactly as it unfolded.
After the proposal, we revealed ourselves and spent the next hour getting to know Branden and Elena on a more personal level while photographing them around the gazebo and courtyard. The calm atmosphere, the soft winter light, and the intimacy of the setting made the entire session feel timeless.
Final Thoughts
This proposal at Churon Winery is a perfect reminder that not everything needs to go exactly as planned for a moment to be perfect. Sometimes, the weather shifts, the clouds roll in, and what you’re left with is something even better than expected. Thoughtful preparation, strong communication, and trust in the process allowed Branden’s vision to come to life effortlessly. We’re incredibly grateful to Churon Winery and Vanessa for their support, and honored to have captured such a meaningful chapter for Branden and Elena—one they’ll be able to relive for years to come.

Cover story planning to protect the surprise

At Last Minute Photoshoot, vineyard proposals are not an add-on. They are one of our core specialties.
Why Vineyard Proposals Require a Specialist
Vineyard proposals come with unique challenges:
Open landscapes with limited hiding spots

From Strangers to Stories: How a Simple Hello at Vitagliano Turned Into a Friendship | Last Minute Photoshoot Temecula
In the early days of Last Minute Photoshoot, we built our brand by walking up to strangers with cameras and courage. That’s how we met Stacy and her daughter, Issy, at Vitagliano Winery in Temecula. What started as a quick, free photoshoot turned into a lasting friendship and multiple booked sessions — from Issy’s senior prom to her homecoming photos at Robert Renzoni Vineyards. It’s proof that sometimes, the best opportunities come from the boldest introductions and the willingness to simply say hello.
In the early days of Last Minute Photoshoot, we didn’t have a formula — just a lot of drive, curiosity, and a willingness to put ourselves out there. When we say we “hit the ground running,” we mean it literally. We’d grab our cameras, head to local spots, and walk right up to strangers asking, “Hey, would you mind if we took a few photos of you? It’s completely free — we’re just trying to build our portfolio.”
Sometimes people said yes. Sometimes they didn’t.
And honestly, we’ve been shut down so many times that we wear it like a badge of honor now — a reminder that courage compounds.
One of those courageous days led us to Vitagliano Winery in Temecula earlier this year. It was a warm afternoon, the vineyards glowed under the golden hour light, and we were out there doing what we do best — chasing light, laughter, and connection. That’s when we met Stacy and her daughter, Issy. They were enjoying the day together, and something about their bond caught our eye. So, we walked up and asked, “Would you two mind if we took a few quick photos?”
They said yes. And that “yes” changed everything.
We had no idea that this spontaneous moment would turn into a genuine friendship. Since that first encounter, Stacy has booked with us twice — once for Issy’s senior prom and most recently for her homecoming photos, both shot right here in Temecula.
The prom shoot started at their home, where the excitement and energy were contagious — the perfect mix of nerves, glam, and family chaos that every parent knows too well. Then we moved over to Robert Renzoni Vineyards, where the light was absolutely perfect. The rows of vines glowed in the sunset, and Issy looked incredible in her gown, surrounded by the natural beauty of Temecula Valley.
Moments like these remind us why we love what we do. What started as two photographers walking up to strangers with nothing but cameras and courage has turned into lasting relationships — the kind that go beyond the photos.

Sometimes, growth doesn’t happen in a studio or behind a screen — it happens in real life, one conversation at a time. That day at Vitagliano reminded us that success often begins with a small act of courage. We didn’t have all the answers back then, but we had heart — and that’s what led us here.
To Stacy and Issy — thank you for trusting us, for saying yes, and for being part of our journey from day one. For anyone reading this, if you ever find yourself wandering through Temecula’s wineries and spot us with our cameras, come say hi. You never know — it might just be the start of your own full-circle story.

From Pumpkin Patch Portraits to Proposal Stories: How It All Started | Last Minute Photoshoot Temecula
When we launched Last Minute Photoshoot, we didn’t have a roadmap—just two photographers eager to learn through trial and error. One October afternoon at Peltzer Pumpkin Farm in Temecula, we met Manuel and Rachael, who kindly let us take their photos. That chance encounter became a lasting friendship and a full-circle moment when we reunited a year later for updated portraits. What began as spontaneous portraits has now evolved into a photography business specializing in surprise proposals and engagement sessions across Southern California. Sometimes, the best beginnings happen by accident—and Peltzer was one of ours.
What started as simple seasonal portraits in Temecula has grown into capturing life’s biggest moments — engagements, elopements, and everything in between. Explore our Photography Packages and find the perfect fit for your next chapter, whether it’s family, love, or celebration.

When we first launched Last Minute Photoshoot, there wasn’t a clear roadmap—just two photographers with cameras, curiosity, and the willingness to learn through trial and error. We didn’t have a big strategy or a marketing plan; we just knew we needed to build awareness, connect with people, and see what worked. That first year was about experimenting, showing up, and doing more of what resonated.
Last October, one of those “let’s just get out there and meet people” moments led us to Peltzer Pumpkin Farm in Temecula, one of Southern California’s most iconic fall destinations. Surrounded by hay bales, string lights, live music, and that cozy autumn energy, we were out there—hands-on, meeting locals, shaking hands, taking photos, and sharing stories.
That’s when we met Manuel and Rachael. They were kind, genuine, and had the sort of chemistry that instantly draws you in. They graciously let us take a few portraits of them among the pumpkins, and those photos ended up meaning more to us than we could’ve imagined. We stayed in touch through social media, cheering them on as they celebrated life’s little milestones.
A year later, we reconnected with them—back at Peltzer Pumpkin Farm, this time with a clearer sense of who we are as photographers and where our business was headed. What started as two creatives taking photos on a whim had grown into something far greater: a business built on connection, trust, and storytelling.
When we launched, we photographed everything—couples, families, portraits, and events. We said yes to it all because we wanted to learn. Now, over a year later, 95% of what we book are surprise proposals and engagement sessions. It’s crazy how clarity comes from doing. Every session, every mistake, every experiment led us here—to the part of photography that feels most meaningful to us: capturing love stories at their most honest moments.
Manuel and Rachael reminded us why we started. They showed us that growth doesn’t always happen in perfect order. Sometimes, it begins by stepping outside your comfort zone, showing up, and simply saying yes to what’s right in front of you.
🎃 Recap
Where it started: Peltzer Pumpkin Farm, Temecula, CA
When: October 2024
Who we met: Manuel and Rachael — two kind souls who trusted us to capture their love
How it evolved: From casual portraits to full-blown proposal and engagement sessions
What we learned: Growth comes from trying, failing, and doing more of what works
🍂 Final Thoughts
If you haven’t been to Peltzer Pumpkin Farm yet, it’s worth checking out before the season ends. The pumpkin patch runs through October 31st, making it a perfect weekend stop if you’re near Temecula or San Diego. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected places—and people—you meet along the way can shape your story in ways you never planned.
For us, that day at Peltzer was more than just a photoshoot—it was the beginning of a vision. A moment that showed us how powerful connection can be when you show up with purpose, patience, and a camera.

Surprise vs. Planned: Which Proposal Style Fits You (and Captures Better Photos)?
When it comes to popping the question, no two proposals are ever alike. Some unfold with pure surprise — a spontaneous moment surrounded by vineyard views, golden light, and raw emotion. Others are carefully planned with décor, music, and family waiting nearby. Both styles have their own kind of beauty, but they feel and photograph very differently. In this blog, we break down the difference between a surprise proposal and a planned proposal, sharing insights from real shoots across Temecula and San Diego. Whether you’re drawn to the adrenaline and authenticity of a surprise or the thoughtful elegance of a planned moment, the key is choosing what feels true to your relationship. The best photos don’t come from perfect setups — they come from genuine emotion, trust, and timing.
No two proposals are ever the same. Some moments unfold with zero warning — hearts racing, adrenaline high, and that instant “yes” echoing through a vineyard or mountaintop. Others are carefully mapped out with décor, timelines, and family waiting to celebrate the second the ring slides on. Both are beautiful. Both are emotional. But they feel different, photograph differently, and demand a different mindset from everyone involved — especially the one asking the question.
Whether you dream of a spontaneous surprise or a perfectly planned proposal, the right photography team makes all the difference. Our Engagement & Proposal Packages are designed to fit your style, capture your story, and turn that “YES” moment into timeless art.

Defining “Surprise” vs “Planned”
Before diving into what works best for you, it helps to define what we mean by each.
A surprise proposal is built around secrecy and spontaneity. One partner knows; the other doesn’t. The photographer is often hidden or disguised, blending into the crowd or pretending to capture landscapes until that magic moment unfolds. The reactions are raw, unfiltered, and completely genuine.
A planned proposal, on the other hand, is intentionally designed. The proposer knows what’s happening, sometimes even the partner does too — just not when or how. It can involve setups, décor, or coordination with vendors like florists or picnic planners. Everything from lighting to background music can be scripted for cinematic perfection. The emotions are still real, but the experience is more structured and controlled.

What We’ve Seen Behind the Lens
This month alone, we’ve photographed four proposals — and we’re on track to capture more proposals in a single calendar year than ever before. Most of them have leaned toward the surprise side, while a few have been more planned.
And honestly? There’s a difference you can feel in the air.
Surprise proposals flow more naturally — not just for the couple, but for the entire setting. Whether it’s a beach at golden hour, a mountain overlook, or a desert ridge glowing with sunset light, the world seems to pause for that moment. There’s something organic about being out there, no décor, no audience, no forced cues — just two people against a million-dollar view that can’t be replicated.
From our experience, surprise proposals are often less stressful for the client.
He’s already carrying the weight of the question — the nerves, the excitement, the pressure to get it right. When it’s just the two of them (and a discreet photographer nearby), the setting allows him to breathe. There’s no crowd watching, no family whispering, no staged moment to hit on cue. It’s pure emotion — and it photographs that way too.
When Planned Proposals Shine
That said, planned proposals have their own kind of magic — and when they’re done right, they can be absolutely breathtaking.
We recently shot one that had every detail thought through: custom décor, a flower arch, champagne on ice, the perfect playlist, and family waiting nearby to celebrate. It was stunning. But it was also stressful for the client. Every moving part added pressure — timing the family’s arrival, checking on the setup, making sure the partner didn’t find out too early.
Planned proposals shine when you want an editorial, cinematic experience. The shots are perfectly framed, lighting can be controlled, and every emotion looks intentional — a movie scene come to life. But they also require more coordination and composure under pressure.
Our Takeaway
There’s no one-size-fits-all. The best style is the one that reflects your personality as a couple.
If you crave raw, real emotion and want your partner’s reaction to unfold naturally — go for the surprise.
If you love design, storytelling, and grand gestures, a planned proposal might be your stage.
But no matter what you choose, the magic isn’t in the setting or the setup — it’s in the sincerity of the ask. When your heart’s in the right place, the photos will show it every time.

A Surprise Proposal at Vitagliano Winery: Carlos & Isabella’s Beautiful Love Story in Temecula
When Carlos first reached out to us in early June, he had a vision—a heartfelt surprise proposal at a scenic Temecula winery that his girlfriend, Isabella, would never see coming. Inspired by one of our blogs about undercover proposal photography in Temecula, he submitted our form and we got to planning. Together, we built a fake storyline where we were hired by Vitagliano Winery to capture content for their social media, giving us the perfect cover to document every moment of this unforgettable day. From a scenic tour in a golf cart to a staged tasting, everything led up to that golden hour “yes” on the dock, surrounded by vineyards. Carlos dropped to one knee, and Isabella’s reaction said it all—joy, love, and total surprise. These are the moments we live for. If you’re planning a surprise proposal in Temecula, San Diego, or anywhere in Southern California, let us help you turn the vision into something magical and unforgettable.
Back in early June, we received a message through our website from someone named Carlos. He had stumbled upon one of our blogs about surprise proposal photography in Temecula and reached out with a big idea. After a quick chat the next day, we knew right away this was going to be a special one.
Even before officially booking us, Carlos was already brainstorming ideas with us. We started building out a plan together—storyboarding different scenarios, researching winery options, and contacting a handful of venues on his behalf. After narrowing it down to two locations, we landed on Vitagliano Winery in Temecula. Not only is it stunning, but their team was incredibly kind and accommodating from start to finish.
Tuscan views, vineyard vibes, and golden hour light—Vitagliano is one of Temecula’s most breathtaking spots to pop the question. With our Undercover “Yes” Proposal Package, we blend in as winery photographers so you can keep the surprise while we capture the moment from start to “YES!”

The Cover Story
To keep the surprise alive, we built a little story together. Carlos told Isabella that Vitagliano had hired photographers (us!) to take candid shots of guests enjoying the grounds for their social media. The idea? Blend into the winery crowd, casually snap content, and wait for golden hour to strike.
When the big day came, we arrived early to scout the location and make sure everything was in place. Around 5 p.m., Carlos and Isabella showed up, and the “tour” began. A golf cart (a.k.a. their chariot) whisked us all around the vineyard while we played our part—chatting, snapping candids, and pretending like it was just another day on assignment.
From Tastings to The Yes
We wrapped up the tour at the winery’s restaurant, where Carlos and Isabella enjoyed a mini tasting. We then gave them space, telling them we had to go photograph other guests (aka keep the act going). As we wandered, we texted Carlos updates—letting him know when and where to meet us.
Just before golden hour, we reunited for what Isabella thought were more “social media photos.” We captured a few beautiful candids before leading them down to the dock. And then, the moment happened.
Carlos got down on one knee, and Isabella’s smile lit up the entire vineyard.
The Afterglow
We spent the next 30 minutes photographing the newly engaged couple, capturing every joyful moment and all that post-YES magic. Before we wrapped, we made our way back to the restaurant, where we shared a celebratory glass of wine with them. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
Carlos and Isabella, thank you for letting us be part of your story. We’ll never forget it.

What We’ve Learned After Years Behind the Lens
From hobbyist to full-time Temecula portrait photographers, we’ve learned a lot through years of capturing everything from family portraits to last-minute branding sessions. In this blog, we share what it’s really like running a portrait photography business in Southern California—including hard lessons, business pivots, creative growth, and tips for new photographers. Whether you're building your photography portfolio, looking for client communication strategies, or exploring the best photo spots in Temecula, this post offers real advice from two passionate creatives who’ve taken over 100,000 portraits (and counting). Explore how to grow your portrait photography skills, connect with clients, and turn your love for photography into a thriving business.
I’ve probably taken well over 100,000 photos (yeah… I think I have a problem) since I first picked up a camera—maybe more. What started as a hobby—just me and my digital Kodak, capturing candid moments and people I loved—has become a full-time portrait photography business I now run with my husband, Son.
We’re based in Temecula, California, and while we specialize in portrait photography, we’ve also covered everything from events and family sessions to commercial shoots and real estate listings. It’s been years of trial, error, growth, and a whole lot of beautiful memories.
If you’re a new photographer, a seasoned pro, or just curious about what it’s like behind the lens, here’s a real, unfiltered look into what we’ve learned.
The Reality Behind Running a Portrait Photography Business
People often picture portrait photographers as always smiling behind the camera, capturing golden hour magic and editing in cozy cafes. Sometimes, sure—but most of the time, it’s sweat, early mornings, late nights, heavy gear, and a lot of behind-the-scenes logistics.
We’ve had sessions that were pure magic—clients who radiated joy, perfect lighting, and everything just clicked. But we’ve also had bookings where we ended up net negative—spending more on gas, props, or time than we earned. Especially in the early days, working as portrait photographers in Southern California, we took on a lot just to build our portfolio and reputation.
But those experiences—good and bad—taught us more than any course or classroom ever could.
5 Hard-Earned Lessons from a Full-Time Temecula Portrait Photographer
1. Passion alone isn’t enough—but it’s essential.
You can love photography with your whole heart (and we do), but that doesn’t make it a sustainable business. Running a successful portrait photography business in Temecula means understanding pricing, contracts, licensing, communication, marketing—and having the confidence to charge what you're worth.
2. Not all exposure pays off.
We’ve done plenty of "let's collab!" and “trade for portfolio” shoots when we started. Some of them helped us grow. Others drained us. If you’re a new Southern California photographer, learn to identify which opportunities will actually move the needle for your business. Don’t undervalue your time or skills.
3. People remember how you made them feel.
One of the best parts of being a portrait photographer is connecting with people. They might come for a headshot or family session—but what keeps them coming back is how you made them feel. Clients don’t just want good photos; they want to feel seen, guided, and taken care of.
4. You will make mistakes—and that’s okay.
We've forgotten equipment. Shown up to the wrong location (yep). Left our flash behind (ouch). But every mistake has helped us grow into more prepared, intentional photographers. If you’re working in portrait photography—especially fast-paced shoots like engagements or branding sessions—own your mistakes, learn, and move on.
5. Don’t be afraid to evolve—and communicate through it.
We rebranded from stephanielephotography.com to lastminutephotoshoot.com when we realized it was time to reflect who we had become. It wasn’t goodbye—it was see you later. That change helped us align with clients who resonate with our current vision: relaxed, last-minute, high-quality portrait photography in Temecula and beyond.
And here's the truth: communication is everything.
With clients: be clear, walk them through the booking and shooting process, set expectations, and follow through. It builds trust and leads to referrals.
With your partner: if you're running a business together (like we are), schedule regular check-ins. We meet weekly to talk about business goals, strategy, and creative direction. Those convos keep us aligned and sane.
Why We Love Being Temecula Portrait Photographers
We recently moved to Temecula, and it’s honestly a photographer’s paradise. The rolling hills, sun-drenched vineyards, historic architecture, and charming downtown are full of texture and life. Whether we’re capturing engagement sessions, branding portraits, or spontaneous lifestyle shoots, there’s always a new corner to discover. The natural light here is unbeatable, and the variety of locations makes it a dream for any portrait photographer.
But here’s the thing—you don’t have to live in a “picture-perfect” place to grow your photography skills.
Wherever you are, go explore your own neighborhood. Walk your community, camera in hand. Take pictures of anything and anybody—your friends, pets, a stranger’s cool jacket, a flower pushing through a sidewalk crack. Shoot the everyday. That’s how you sharpen your eye and find your voice.
We started this business long before we ever had access to dreamy backdrops or styled setups. We just made do with what we had. And that mindset still fuels our work today.
Great photography isn’t about the location—it’s about the way you see it.
Tips for New Portrait Photographers
Whether you're just picking up a camera or thinking about going full-time in portrait photography, here are a few things we’ve learned that might help you:
Shoot for yourself. Personal work fuels your creativity and keeps burnout at bay.
Back up everything. Twice. Maybe three times.
Keep learning. Invest in courses, workshops, or mentorships—especially from other portrait photographers in California whose work inspires you.
Ask for feedback. It might sting, but it’ll make you better.
Trust your gut. If a job or collaboration feels off, honor that feeling.
Protect your time. Don’t say yes to everything. Be strategic.
Final Thoughts
Running our own portrait photography business has taught us more than we ever imagined—not just about photography, but about ourselves. We’ve learned how to be resilient, how to connect, how to run a business, and how to make art that matters.
If you’re in the middle of your own journey—whether you're shooting in your backyard or taking clients all over Southern California—know that every step counts. Every photo you take brings you closer to your voice, your vision, and your dream.
And if you're ever in Temecula and looking for someone to capture your moment—we’d love to hear from you.
We totally get it—sometimes you just want to talk it out first. If you have questions or want to go over the details together, we’d love to hop on a call and walk you through everything.
