When the Tide Changed the Plan | Israel & Jaelynn’s Victoria Beach Pirate Tower Proposal
What started as a sunset proposal became a romantic morning surprise at Victoria Beach's iconic Pirate Tower in Laguna Beach, California. On September 6, Israel contacted Last Minute Photoshoot to plan a discreet proposal for Jaelynn, complete with beautiful red rose floral arrangements. With just over two weeks to prepare, we coordinated the location, monitored tides and adjusted the proposal to September 22 before noon to avoid higher water levels. Steph and Son arrived early to prepare the Grand Floral red rose setup, carefully planning around waves, wind and beach crowds. Once Israel and Jaelynn arrived, we discreetly photographed and recorded the unforgettable moment she said yes, followed by an hour of engagement portraits along Victoria Beach and the Pirate Tower.

In the Nick of Time | Nick & Tam’s Victoria Beach Pirate Tower Proposal
Nick reached out from Canada in late July while planning an August 10 surprise proposal to his longtime girlfriend, Tam, in Laguna Beach. After discussing locations and how we could keep everything a secret, we chose Victoria Beach near the iconic Pirate Tower. We created the timeline, exact GPS pin and a simple cover story so Nick only had to show up with Tam. But minutes before they arrived, the tide began rushing in and a lifeguard told us our side of the beach was about to close. We explained that a proposal was moments away and watched Nick’s GPS get closer. In the nick of time, they arrived. We asked Nick to take our photo, returned the favor and got into position. Nick dropped to one knee, Tam said yes, and we spent the remaining sunset capturing their engagement and family photos.
Five Days to Plan a Laguna Beach Yes | Miguel & Jocelyn’s Crescent Bay Proposal
Miguel reached out to Last Minute Photoshoot on July 3 after his original proposal photographer canceled just five days before he planned to propose to Jocelyn. Flying in from South Carolina, he knew he wanted Laguna Beach because one of their first dates had taken place there, but he needed help choosing the perfect location and bringing everything together. Within an hour, we were planning his surprise proposal at Crescent Bay Point Park, complete with our Signature Yes floral arch setup, music, family coordination, an exact GPS pin and a detailed timeline. On July 8, Miguel and Jocelyn walked toward the arch overlooking the Laguna Beach coastline, a violin version of “If I Lose Myself” began playing, Miguel got down on one knee and Jocelyn said yes. We spent the next hour capturing their engagement photos at sunset.
From a 10 PM Message to a Laguna Beach Yes | Derek & Bella’s Heisler Park Proposal
Two weeks before proposing, Derek reached out to us late at night with an August 8 date and two Laguna Beach locations in mind: Heisler Park or Crescent Bay. By the next afternoon, we were already planning his surprise. Derek chose Heisler Park after reading one of our real client stories, and together we created a simple cover story: we'd ask him to take our photo, return the favor, then cue Derek and Bella to face each other. That's when he'd propose. Bella traveled from Brazil, Derek had traveled from Canada to see her, and their love story eventually brought them together at sunset in Laguna Beach. She said yes, and we spent the next hour chasing golden light from the coastal overlook to the gazebo and beach.
