From a Simple Inquiry to a Timeless Wedding Story – Capturing Colleen & Joshua’s Courthouse “I Do”

When Colleen reached out just one week before her wedding at the historic Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana, we knew we had to make it happen. She and Joshua were planning an intimate civil ceremony, and although they were on a tight budget, their story and energy aligned perfectly with the kind of work we love to do. We hadn’t photographed a wedding in years, and this felt like the perfect way to step back into that world—through genuine connection and storytelling.

From waking up at 3 AM to scouting locations before the courthouse opened, to documenting their vow exchange and tear-filled chapel ceremony, this wedding reminded us why we do what we do. Every detail—from the handwritten vows to the courthouse architecture—deserved to be preserved. And for the first time, we leaned fully into black and white edits and cinematic grain, creating timeless imagery that felt as emotional as the day itself.
