Inside the national park, amenities are limited and cell service can be unreliable.
That's why we like to have things figured out before anyone arrives.

You don't want the success of your proposal depending on a text saying:
"Where are you?"
when nobody has service.
Summer Proposals in Joshua Tree Require Extra Planning
Summer heat should be taken seriously.
If you're proposing during the warmer months, we'd strongly recommend planning around the cooler parts of the day whenever possible.
For photography, this usually works in our favor anyway.

Palm Springs and Palm Desert have one major advantage during hotter months:
You can spend much of the day inside a hotel, restaurant, spa, or another air-conditioned environment before stepping outside closer to proposal time.
Joshua Tree doesn't give you that same flexibility once you're inside the park.
That's something we'd strongly consider when choosing between the three.

You'll be walking throughout the property, including some gradual uphill sections as you move between gardens, pathways, and attractions. By the end of our proposal and engagement session, we had easily logged over 10,000 steps without even realizing it.
If you've ever visited Balboa Park in San Diego, The Huntington offers a very similar experience in the sense that there's always something new waiting around the next corner.
