The oceanfront park stretches along the bluffs of Cliff Drive and features walking paths, landscaped areas, picnic spaces, restrooms, ocean overlooks and access to beaches and tide pools below.

For proposals, one of the biggest advantages of Heisler Park is the amount of variety you can get without having to drive somewhere else.

You can propose overlooking the Pacific Ocean, walk toward the gazebo for additional photos, use the greenery and pathways around the park and potentially finish your engagement session down at the beach.

That gives us a lot to work with as photographers.

Instead of capturing your proposal and spending the next hour standing in basically the same place, we can move around and give your gallery several completely different looks.

Is Heisler Park a Good Place to Propose?

Absolutely.

Heisler Park is especially good for couples who want that recognizable Laguna Beach scenery without necessarily proposing directly on the sand.

You have the Pacific Ocean below you, coastal cliffs, greenery, walking paths and several overlooks throughout the park.

It also works really well for a surprise.

Your partner doesn’t necessarily have to wonder why you’re suddenly walking onto an empty beach or toward an elaborate setup.

You can simply be taking a walk through Heisler Park.

That gives us plenty of opportunities to blend into the environment and create a natural cover story.

The biggest thing to understand is that Heisler Park is a public park.

You shouldn’t plan your proposal expecting an overlook, gazebo or section of the park to be completely empty.

Instead, we recommend choosing a primary proposal location and having at least one backup nearby.

That way, if another couple, family or group happens to be standing exactly where you planned to propose, your entire plan doesn’t fall apart.

The Best Places to Propose at Heisler Park

There isn’t one single best proposal location inside Heisler Park.

Different areas work better depending on your vision, the tide, crowds, lighting and whether you want something simple or more elaborate.

These are the locations we would consider first.

1. The Heisler Park Gazebo

The gazebo is probably one of the most recognizable and requested proposal locations inside Heisler Park.

And we understand why.

It already has a romantic look without needing much else.

You have the gazebo itself, landscaped surroundings and the Laguna Beach coastline nearby.

For a simple proposal, it can be beautiful.

But there are a few things you should know before building your entire proposal around it.

The Gazebo Is a Popular Public Space

You cannot assume the gazebo will be empty just because you arrive at a particular time.

There could be another couple taking photos, visitors enjoying the park or even another event happening nearby.

That’s why we always recommend having another location ready.

If the gazebo is occupied, you can propose at an overlook and return to the gazebo afterward for engagement photos.

Your proposal doesn’t have to be delayed because someone happens to be standing inside it.

What About Decorating the Gazebo?

This is where we recommend being especially careful.

We’ve personally seen plenty of decorated proposal setups around Laguna Beach, including setups where it wasn’t obvious whether a permit had been obtained.

But seeing someone else do something doesn’t mean it was approved.

And we wouldn’t recommend risking one of the biggest moments of your life based on what another person happened to get away with.

If your proposal depends on flowers, candles, an arch, signs or another installed setup, contact the City of Laguna Beach before making your plans.

As of 2026, the city specifically states that it does not currently offer permits for engagement/proposal setups or luxury picnics.

The gazebo is listed as an official wedding-permit location, but that does not mean a wedding permit automatically allows an elaborate proposal setup.

In fact, the city’s wedding rules keep ceremonies intentionally simple and prohibit tables, chairs, archways and structures.

So if the decorations are a major part of your vision, we would confirm exactly what the city will allow before purchasing flowers or hiring a setup vendor.

If the answer is no, we’d rather help you choose another Orange County location where your setup can be done properly than spend proposal day worrying about being asked to remove everything.

2. Heisler Park Ocean Overlooks

For a surprise proposal, the overlooks are honestly some of our favorite options.

You already have your decoration:

the Pacific Ocean.

An overlook gives you a beautiful Laguna Beach backdrop while also making the proposal feel natural.

You can tell your partner you want to stop and enjoy the view.

You can ask someone to take your photo.

Or your photographer can blend in with everyone else enjoying the park.

This is exactly the type of plan we created for Derek and Bella’s Heisler Park surprise proposal.

Derek originally considered both Heisler Park and Crescent Bay Point Park before choosing Heisler.

Our cover story was simple.

Stephanie and I would look like another couple hanging around the park.

When Derek and Bella walked past us, we would ask Derek:

“Hey, can you take a photo of my wife and me?”

He would take our photo.

Then we’d offer to return the favor.

We posed Derek and Bella for a couple of photos before asking them to face each other.

That was Derek’s cue.

He started his speech, got down on one knee and Bella said yes.

Simple plans like that are one of the reasons we love Heisler Park.

The location doesn’t need to scream:

“A proposal is about to happen here.”

3. Monument Point and Other Bluff-Top Areas

Another option worth considering is the bluff-top scenery throughout Heisler Park, including Monument Point and other areas overlooking the coastline.

These locations can give you a wider coastal feeling than proposing inside the gazebo.

They’re especially good if your priority is having the ocean prominently behind you.

The City of Laguna Beach actually lists Monument Point at Heisler Park as one of its official wedding-permit locations, which gives you an idea of how naturally scenic the area is.

Again, that doesn’t make the space private.

You’re still proposing in a public park.

But with good timing and positioning, these overlooks can make for some of our favorite Heisler Park proposal photographs.

4. The Beach and Large Rocks Below Heisler Park

If you want something more adventurous, you can also consider heading down toward the beaches below Heisler Park.

This can completely change the look of your proposal.

Instead of photographing from above the coastline, we can get closer to the waves, rocks and cliffs.

We’ve seen couples drawn toward some of the larger rocks and boulders because they create an incredible coastal backdrop.

But there’s one major factor:

the tide.

Do not choose a beach-level proposal location without checking the tide and surf conditions first.

Rockpile Beach sits at the south end of Heisler Park. The City of Laguna Beach notes that during high tide, almost no dry sand may remain.

Picnic Beach also has rocky areas that can become hazardous during high tide or larger surf.

So just because a rock looks incredible in someone else’s engagement photos doesn’t mean it will be safely accessible when you arrive.

For us, safety always wins.

If the rock is wet, waves are reaching it or the tide is too high, we’re not going to recommend climbing onto it for a photograph.

There are plenty of other beautiful places to propose.

We can always use the overlook for the actual proposal and head toward the beach afterward if conditions allow.

Parking at Heisler Park

This is one of those boring details that can make or break a surprise proposal.

Give yourself extra time to park.

Heisler Park runs along Cliff Drive, and parking availability can change dramatically depending on the day, season and time.

Weekends and beautiful sunset evenings can be especially challenging.

The last thing we want is for you to be sitting in your car looking for parking while your photographer is standing at the proposal spot wondering where you are.

When we plan proposals here, we like giving clients an exact GPS location rather than simply saying:

“Meet us at Heisler Park.”

Heisler Park is too large for that.

You should know where you’re trying to park, which direction you’ll walk and approximately how long it will take you to reach the proposal location.

We also recommend building a parking buffer into your timeline.

If everything goes perfectly and you arrive early, great.

Take a little walk.

Enjoy Laguna Beach.

Grab a coffee.

We would much rather have you nearby early than rushing toward your proposal spot stressed out because you couldn’t find parking.

Laguna Beach also operates a free coastal trolley that serves North Laguna and the Heisler Park area. Depending on where you’re staying or parking, that can sometimes be another option.

Always check the current trolley schedule before relying on it for proposal day.

Weekday vs. Weekend Proposals at Heisler Park

If you have flexibility, we generally prefer weekdays for Heisler Park proposals.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t propose on a Saturday or Sunday. We photograph weekend proposals all the time.

It simply means you should plan them differently.

Proposing at Heisler Park on a Weekday

A weekday usually gives you a little more breathing room.

Parking can be easier, there may be fewer people moving through the most popular areas, and we generally have more flexibility when choosing backgrounds for photographs.

If privacy is one of your biggest priorities, we would strongly consider a Monday through Thursday proposal.

That is especially true if you’re hoping to use the gazebo.

There is never a guarantee that it will be empty, but fewer visitors generally give us more opportunities to work around other people.

Weekdays also give us more flexibility after the proposal.

Instead of waiting for people to move out of a particular background, we can often keep walking and chasing the best light throughout the park.

Proposing at Heisler Park on a Weekend

Weekend proposals can still be absolutely beautiful.

You just need to expect more people.

Give yourself additional time for parking and don’t build a plan that depends on one exact location being completely empty.

This is when having a Plan A and Plan B becomes especially important.

If the gazebo is packed, use an overlook.

If your favorite overlook has a family taking sunset photos, walk another minute to your backup.

Once the proposal happens, we can always circle back to certain areas later for portraits.

We would much rather adjust the background slightly than have you nervously standing around waiting for strangers to leave while your partner starts wondering what’s going on.

Our Choice: Weekday or Weekend?

If everything else were equal and you asked us to choose?

Weekday.

Especially if you want sunset.

But if Saturday is the only day that makes sense for your relationship, travel plans or dinner reservation, don’t let that stop you.

A good plan matters more than having the park completely to yourself.

One other thing we recommend is checking Laguna Beach’s event calendar before choosing your date. Heisler Park hosts community events throughout the year, including Sunset Serenades concerts at the amphitheater.

An event can completely change parking and foot traffic, so it’s worth checking before locking everything in.

Do You Need a Permit for a Heisler Park Proposal?

This is where it’s important to separate the proposal itself, professional photography and decorations.

If you’re simply walking through Heisler Park and asking your partner to marry you, that is different from installing a decorated proposal setup or conducting professional photography.

For professional photography, the City of Laguna Beach currently states that permits are required for professional still photography taking place on city property, including parks and beaches.

The city’s Professional Still Photo Permit is intended for limited-use, single-camera sessions such as engagement photos, wedding photos and family portraits.

As of 2026, the listed fee is $100 for two hours, plus $50 for each additional hour.

During the summer season from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, the city limits these professional still-photo permits to 7:30 AM–10:00 AM or 6:00 PM–sunset.

Outside that summer period, permits may be issued from 7:30 AM through sunset.

Rules and fees can change, so always verify the current requirements directly with the City of Laguna Beach before your proposal.

What If You Want Decorations?

This deserves its own section because we get asked about it all the time.

A floral arch overlooking the Pacific sounds amazing.

Candles around the gazebo sound amazing.

A luxury picnic with flowers and champagne sounds amazing.

But Laguna Beach has become increasingly restrictive about proposal setups.

As of 2026, the City of Laguna Beach explicitly says it does not offer permits for engagement/proposal setups or luxury picnics.

That means we would not plan a large decorative setup at Heisler Park assuming we can simply apply for a standard photography permit.

A photography permit is not the same thing as permission for a decorated installation.

And again, just because you see another proposal setup happening doesn't mean that setup was approved.

We see things happen at beaches and parks all the time.

That doesn't mean we recommend gambling your proposal on doing the same thing.

This is your one proposal.

We would rather help you find another location where your vision can be executed properly than spend the hour before your proposal wondering whether someone is going to ask us to take everything down.

If decorations are important to you, contact the city first and explain exactly what you're planning.

And if Heisler Park can't accommodate it, there are other Orange County locations we can explore.

What About Champagne After the Proposal?

Another little detail worth knowing:

If you're planning on celebrating with champagne or another alcoholic beverage afterward, don't assume you can simply bring it into the park.

The City of Laguna Beach currently requires a permit for alcohol consumption at Heisler Park, and alcohol must be accompanied by a bona fide meal.

Alcohol is prohibited on the beaches themselves.

So if popping champagne is part of your vision, confirm the current rules before bringing it along.

Or save the champagne for dinner afterward.

Laguna Beach certainly isn't short on places to celebrate.

What Time Should You Propose at Heisler Park?

For sunset proposals, we usually recommend proposing before the actual sunset time, not exactly at sunset.

Why?

Because once you propose, we still want light.

If sunset is at 7:00 PM and you propose at exactly 7:00 PM, we've already lost most of our opportunity for a post-proposal engagement session.

Depending on the season and conditions, we often like the actual proposal to happen roughly 20–40 minutes before sunset.

That gives us enough time to capture the surprise and then start moving.

We can photograph around the overlook.

Walk toward the gazebo.

Use the paths and greenery.

Then potentially head down toward the beach as the light gets softer.

The exact timing changes throughout the year, so we build every timeline around the specific proposal date.

Check the Tide Before Planning Beach Photos

If your proposal or engagement session involves the beaches below Heisler Park, we check the tide.

This is not optional for us.

A location that looks completely different at low tide can become inaccessible or unsafe at high tide.

Rockpile Beach is a perfect example.

At lower tides, you may have much more room to explore the coastline and tide pools.

At high tide, the city says almost no dry sand may remain.

Picnic Beach also has rocky areas that become hazardous during high tides or surf.

So when someone sends us a Pinterest photo and says:

“I want to stand on this exact rock.”

Our answer is usually:

“Let’s check the tide first.”

Sometimes it works perfectly.

Sometimes we move twenty feet.

Sometimes we stay on top of the bluff.

The photograph isn't worth risking your safety.

A Simple Heisler Park Surprise Proposal Plan

You don't need an elaborate setup to make Heisler Park romantic.

Sometimes the simplest plan is the best one.

Start with a normal date.

Maybe you're spending the afternoon in Laguna Beach, grabbing dinner afterward or simply walking along the coastline.

Your photographer arrives early and gets into position.

You receive an exact GPS pin and know what your photographer looks like.

Then you walk toward the planned location.

From there, we can use a cover story.

Maybe we ask you to take our photo.

Maybe you ask us to take yours.

Maybe we never interact with you at all and simply photograph from a distance.

Once you're standing in the correct position, you give us the planned cue.

Then forget about us.

Look at your partner.

Say what you came there to say.

Get down on one knee.

And enjoy the moment.

After they say yes, we'll take it from there.

What Happens After They Say Yes?

This is another reason Heisler Park works so well for proposal photography.

Don't leave immediately.

The proposal itself might only take a minute or two, but now you're engaged in one of the most beautiful areas of Laguna Beach.

Let's use it.

We can start near your proposal spot and then walk through the park together.

Depending on crowds and lighting, we can photograph around the gazebo, ocean overlooks, walking paths and greenery.

If the tide allows, we can head down toward the beach.

That's exactly what we did with Derek and Bella.

After Derek proposed, we spent the remainder of their session chasing the evening light from their original proposal location toward the gazebo and eventually down to the beach.

It gave their final gallery much more variety than simply photographing everything from one overlook.

What If the Gazebo Is Busy?

Don't panic.

This is why we plan ahead.

If the gazebo is occupied when you arrive, we have a few options.

We can wait.

We can move to another overlook.

We can use the gazebo later for engagement portraits.

Or we can switch completely to our backup location.

The important thing is that your partner doesn't know any of this is happening.

To them, you're just walking through Heisler Park.

That gives us flexibility.

The proposal isn't ruined because someone decided to eat lunch inside the gazebo.

We adjust.

That's part of what proposal planning is about.

The biggest lesson from photographing proposals here is simple:

You don't need the gazebo.

You don't need a hundred roses.

You don't need an elaborate setup.

You need a location that feels right, a plan that keeps the surprise intact and someone you can't wait to ask that question to.

Everything else is just helping that moment come together.

From a 10 PM Message to a Laguna Beach Yes | Derek & Bella’s Heisler Park Proposal

Derek gets down on one knee to propose to Bella at Heisler Park during their romantic sunset surprise proposal in Laguna Beach, California.

Some proposal stories start months in advance. Derek and Bella’s started with a message around 10 PM.

In late July, Derek reached out to Last Minute Photoshoot through our website and told us he was planning to propose to his then-girlfriend, Bella, on August 8, 2026. He already had two Laguna Beach locations in mind: Heisler Park or Crescent Bay Point Park.

So naturally, we did what any sane business owners would do at 10 o’clock at night.

We texted him back. Haha.

One of our biggest rules at Last Minute Photoshoot is simple: communicate quickly. Sometimes that means answering a question in the middle of the afternoon. Sometimes it means messaging a potential client at 2 AM.

Love doesn’t exactly operate during normal business hours. Neither do we, apparently.

Plan Your Laguna Beach Proposal

From a Late-Night Inquiry to a Booked Proposal

To our surprise, Derek messaged us right back.

Although, thinking about it now, maybe it shouldn’t have been that surprising. We’re usually awake late editing photos anyway, so if an inquiry comes through while we’re sitting at our computers, there’s a pretty good chance we’ll respond immediately.

We scheduled a call with Derek for the following day.

On that call, we started putting everything together. We talked about Laguna Beach, Heisler Park versus Crescent Bay, and how to keep the proposal a surprise.

By that afternoon, Derek officially booked us.

We were stoked.

Now it was time to plan.

Choosing Heisler Park for Their Laguna Beach Proposal

Derek ultimately settled on Heisler Park in Laguna Beach after reading one of our previous client proposal stories from the location.

That’s one of our favorite things about sharing real proposals on our website. They’re not just pretty pictures. They help future clients imagine how their own proposal might actually work.

Derek had seen another couple’s story at Heisler Park. Now he wanted us to capture his and Bella’s love story there.

Once the location was confirmed, we got to work.

Choosing the Exact Proposal Spot

When we photograph locations more than once, we usually have several spots in mind rather than telling every client to stand in exactly the same place.

The light changes. Crowds change. The season changes. And sometimes one backdrop simply fits someone’s vision better than another.

For Derek, we narrowed it down to two options: Spot A or Spot B.

We showed him both.

Derek chose Spot A.

Now we could build the actual surprise around it.

And this one was going to require a little acting.

"Hey, Can You Take a Photo of My Wife and Me?"

The plan was for Derek and Bella to walk past us like we were complete strangers.

Stephanie and I would be hanging out at Heisler Park.

As Derek and Bella passed, I would approach Derek and ask:

"Hey, can you take a photo of my wife and me?"

He'd take our photo.

Then we'd return the favor.

Simple.

Natural.

And hopefully not suspicious.

We would take Derek's phone and start posing the two of them like any random couple helping another couple take a photograph at one of Laguna Beach's overlooks.

Except we already knew exactly what was about to happen.

We'd pose them for a few photos.

Then we'd give them one final direction:

Face each other.

That was Derek's cue.

Once Bella turned toward him, Derek would start his speech.

And from there, we'd stop pretending to be random tourists and start documenting one of the biggest moments of their lives.

One Final Call Before the Big Day

As August 8 got closer, we jumped on another call with Derek.

We went over the plan one more time.

Where to park.

Where to walk.

Where we'd be standing.

What we would look like.

How the photo exchange would work.

When he should start his speech.

And what would happen after Bella said yes.

By the end of that call, there wasn't much left for Derek to worry about.

Everything was planned.

Now all he had to do was show up with Bella.

And ask one question.

August 8 Arrived

On proposal day, we headed to Laguna Beach and got ourselves into position early.

We sent Derek our GPS location for the day along with a photo of us so he knew exactly who he was looking for.

Then we waited.

Eventually, we saw them.

Derek and Bella were walking toward us.

For Bella, it was just another beautiful evening at Heisler Park.

For Derek, every step was bringing him closer to the moment he'd been planning.

For us?

Showtime.

They passed us.

We approached Derek.

We asked him to take our photo.

He did.

Then we offered to take one for them.

Exactly as planned.

"Now Face Each Other"

We took a few photographs.

Nothing suspicious.

Just two strangers returning a favor.

Then came the pose we'd been waiting for.

We asked Derek and Bella to face each other.

Bella turned toward him.

Derek looked at her.

And the entire reason we were standing there pretending to be tourists finally came together.

Derek started his speech.

Then he got down on one knee.

He asked Bella to marry him.

She said yes.

The secret was finally out.

And now we could stop pretending. :)

Chasing the Laguna Beach Sunset

The proposal itself was only the beginning of their session.

Once Bella realized what had just happened and everyone had a chance to celebrate, we started moving.

One of the reasons we love photographing proposals at Heisler Park is the variety you can get without having to drive somewhere else afterward.

We started around the original proposal location.

Then we made our way toward the gazebo.

As the sun continued dropping, we followed the light through the park.

Eventually, we headed down toward the beach.

Cliffs.

Park scenery.

The gazebo.

Ocean views.

And finally, the sand.

Instead of spending the entire session standing in one location, we were able to give Derek and Bella a small Laguna Beach engagement session immediately after their proposal.

And the entire time, the evening light just kept getting better.

From Canada to Brazil to Laguna Beach

One of our favorite parts of doing this has very little to do with cameras.

It's getting to know our clients.

During the planning process and especially after the proposal, we get to hear pieces of the story that brought two people to that moment.

And Derek and Bella had quite the story.

Derek told us about their relationship and the distance that had been part of it.

About traveling from Canada to see Bella in Brazil.

About the effort it took to spend time together.

And now Bella had traveled from Brazil to California, not knowing Derek had an entirely different plan waiting for her in Laguna Beach.

Hearing stories like theirs gives the photographs a completely different meaning.

We're not just photographing two people standing in front of an ocean.

We're photographing everything that had to happen for those two people to be standing there together.

All the flights.

All the distance.

All the conversations.

All the visits.

All the waiting.

And now one very important trip to Laguna Beach.

Why Heisler Park Worked for Derek & Bella

Derek originally came to us considering both Heisler Park and Crescent Bay Point Park.

Both can be beautiful options for a Laguna Beach proposal.

For this particular plan, though, Heisler Park gave us exactly what we needed.

We had an overlook where we could naturally blend in.

There were enough visitors around that two photographers didn't immediately look suspicious.

Our "can you take our photo?" cover story made sense.

And after the proposal, we had multiple environments within walking distance for their engagement photos.

Most importantly, it worked for Derek and Bella's story.

That's something we always try to remind clients when they're choosing between proposal locations.

There isn't necessarily one "best" proposal spot in Laguna Beach.

There's the location that works best for your proposal.

Sometimes the Best Cover Story Is the Simplest One

This proposal also reminded us that surprise plans don't always need to be complicated.

No elaborate distraction.

No fake event.

No pretending they won a photoshoot.

No suspicious calendar invitation.

Just two people asking another couple to take their picture.

It's something that happens every day at scenic locations like Heisler Park.

And that's exactly why it worked.

Bella had no reason to think anything of it.

Until we asked them to face each other.

That's when their Laguna Beach walk became their proposal story.

From One Late-Night Message to "Yes"

It's funny thinking about how this entire story started.

Around 10 PM in late July, a submission appeared on our website.

Derek wanted to propose to Bella.

He was thinking about Laguna Beach.

He had August 8 in mind.

We happened to still be awake.

So we texted him.

A day later, we had a client.

A few weeks later, we were pretending to be strangers at Heisler Park.

And a few minutes after that, Bella was looking at Derek on one knee.

Then we spent the rest of the evening chasing the sunset through Laguna Beach while getting to know two people whose love story had already crossed countries to get there.

Those are the nights that remind us why the quick communication, planning calls, GPS pins, timelines and late nights are worth it.

Derek trusted us with a pretty big secret.

Bella trusted us with their memories once she realized what was happening.

And for a little while, we got to become part of a love story that stretched from Canada to Brazil to Laguna Beach, California.

It Started With One Late-Night Message

One evening in mid-May, around 10:00 p.m., our phone buzzed with a new inquiry.

Andrew wanted to know if we were available on June 11.

Like many of our clients, he was planning a surprise proposal and didn't want to wait long for an answer.

Within minutes, we replied.

By the following day, Andrew had officially booked us, and the planning process began.

He knew he wanted to propose somewhere along the Orange County coastline and was interested in our Golden Hour Proposal Experience.

Andrew immediately fell in love with Victoria Beach.

If you've ever visited Laguna Beach, you probably know why.

The historic pirate tower, dramatic coastline, and crashing waves make it one of Southern California's most photographed proposal locations.

It was our first choice too.

But nature had other plans.

As proposal day approached, we closely monitored the tides.

The closer we got, the more obvious it became that conditions weren't improving.

If you've been to Victoria Beach during high tide, you know how quickly it changes.

The rocks leading toward the famous tower disappear beneath the water.

Large waves begin crashing against the cliffs.

Walking across the rocks becomes unpredictable and, more importantly, unsafe.

The morning of the proposal, we visited the location ourselves to make one final decision.

Unfortunately, the tides confirmed what we'd been expecting.

Victoria Beach simply wasn't safe.

Having a Backup Plan Made All the Difference

Fortunately, we never rely on only one location.

Our backup became Heisler Park.

Initially, we considered proposing near the gazebo.

But after scouting the area, another challenge appeared.

Crowds.

Even on a weekday, visitors filled the overlook.

Rather than forcing the proposal into a crowded space, we continued walking.

Eventually we found exactly what we were looking for.

Soft golden light.

Ocean views.

More privacy.

Fewer distractions.

Sometimes the best proposal location isn't the famous landmark everyone photographs.

Sometimes it's simply the quieter spot just a little farther away.

Our Cover Story Begins

As sunset approached, Andrew let us know he was walking toward the GPS pin.

Everything was in place.

Well...almost.

Someone happened to be sitting exactly where we hoped Andrew would propose.

Fortunately, they couldn't have been kinder.

We explained what was about to happen and asked if we could borrow the area for just a few minutes.

Without hesitation, they smiled and wished Andrew good luck.

Then our cover story officially began.

We walked up to Andrew and Bria and asked:

"Would you mind taking a picture of us?"

They happily agreed.

After thanking them, we offered to return the favor.

Now the roles had switched.

As we photographed them together, we naturally positioned them exactly where we wanted them.

We asked them to face one another.

Hold hands.

Smile.

That was Andrew's cue.

The Moment She Said Yes

Andrew turned toward Bria and began speaking.

The nervous excitement quickly disappeared.

His words became calm.

Personal.

Heartfelt.

Bria smiled.

They laughed naturally.

Stayed completely present.

And simply enjoyed being newly engaged.

Some of our favorite photographs weren't posed at all.

They were simply the moments in between.
