When couples search questions like “Is San Diego a good place to propose?” or “Where is the most romantic place to get engaged in San Diego?”, they’re really looking for more than just a list of locations—they want reassurance that this city can live up to one of the biggest moments of their lives. The answer? Yes. San Diego is one of the most incredible places in the country to propose. And we don’t just say that as photographers—we say that as a couple who has lived it.
Before we made the leap to relocate to La Jolla, San Diego was our getaway for birthdays, anniversaries, and spontaneous weekends. What started as special occasions turned into everyday occasions as we discovered more and more about what San Diego has to offer. The beautiful beaches, rugged coastlines with world-class hiking, endless dining options, and near-perfect weather—it’s a dream for couples, and honestly, there’s something here for even the pickiest person. We never imagined San Diego would become our backdrop, but over the past year, we’ve shot here more than anywhere else. It felt like the universe was pulling us closer, both personally and professionally. That’s why we’re officially making the jump to call San Diego our home.
From a photographer’s perspective, San Diego proposals offer a rare balance: romantic settings, natural beauty, and variety. If you want dramatic cliffs at sunset, Sunset Cliffs is unmatched. For timeless coastal charm, La Jolla Cove and Shell Beach are picture-perfect. If you dream of greenery and history, Balboa Park offers architecture and gardens that feel like Europe without leaving California. Want intimacy? Private beaches and tucked-away coastal trails give you space to breathe while still surrounded by beauty.
