Immediately after she said yes, their loved ones poured out of the house to celebrate with champagne, music, food, and dancing. We responded right away, asked about location and timing, and spent the next couple of days fine-tuning the details. By Thursday, everything was locked in. Raul booked with us, and the vision for his surprise proposal in San Diego was officially underway.
What made this one truly special was the setting — the front yard of Raul’s home, transformed into a romantic scene with the help of his closest friends and family. When we arrived early (as we always do), we were greeted with so much warmth. A huge shoutout to Bernice and Timmy for making our arrival feel like we were stepping into a friend’s home. Their kindness, hospitality, and genuine excitement set the tone for the entire day.
The setup was stunning: a balloon arch rising above a bold red carpet, rose petals creating a soft pathway, candles lining the edges, and a glowing “Marry Me” sign anchoring the entire moment. The planner and decorators — Raul’s good friends — were busy perfecting every detail. We checked the lighting, mapped out our positions, and even jumped in to help with the setup (they happily put us to work!).
Once everything was ready, all we had to do was wait.
When Raul and Diana arrived, the energy shifted. We started documenting immediately — capturing them stepping out of the car, walking down the red carpet, and taking in the surprise setup. After she said yes, we recreated their first-ever visit—walking the orchard, dancing to live music, shopping inside the farm store, picking raspberries, and sharing mini donuts. Snow-Line Orchard has been a beloved family-owned farm since the 1800s, drawing visitors with its U-pick berries, apple cider, mountain trails, and famous mini donuts. It’s the kind of place where memories stack on top of each other—where families return year after year, where traditions grow, and where love stories quietly take root. For our client, this orchard was exactly that: a place woven into their relationship from the very beginning.
They moved from the East Coast to Southern California to carve their new path together. Every fall they visited Snow-Line, picking apples, sharing donuts, and wandering the property hand in hand. So when Joseph reached out to plan the proposal, he knew there was no better location to begin the next chapter of their story.
Before heading to the orchard, we stopped at Beaumont Flowers to pick up 16 handcrafted floral pieces and several bags of fresh rose petals—his vision was thoughtful, intentional, and romantic. We’ve done small floral setups before, but never anything at this beautiful scale. Once the pieces were in hand, we headed to the farm early, found the perfect spot overlooking the mountains, created the floral layout, spread the petals, and waited quietly for their arrival.
And to keep ourselves warm in that crisp mountain air, we grabbed something Snow-Line is quietly famous for: their hot mulled wine. Served warm and fragrant, it reminded me of cranberry sauce—sweet, spiced, and comforting. On an early morning photoshoot with the mountains still waking up, that cup kept us warm and grounded. If you ever visit, it’s a must-try.
When the couple walked into the orchard, the world seemed to pause. As she stepped into the floral path and realized what was happening, her eyes filled instantly—pure surprise, pure emotion, pure love.
