Route Options & Favorite Stops
San Diego’s trolley system is made up of three colorful lines that connect some of the most vibrant, scenic, and historic parts of the city. Each route offers unique proposal opportunities depending on your vibe—urban and energetic, coastal and breezy, or hidden and serene.
1. UC San Diego Blue Line – Downtown to La Jolla
Overview: This line stretches from the U.S.-Mexico border through downtown San Diego all the way to the heart of University City. It’s ideal for couples who want a proposal that feels connected to the coast and nature.
Best Stops:
America Plaza: Convenient downtown hub near waterfront and historic Santa Fe Depot.

2. Green Line – Seaport Village to Santee
Overview: A beautiful ride for couples who love San Diego's downtown energy with access to cultural landmarks and sprawling parks.
Best Stops:
Gaslamp Quarter: Bustling and full of color—great for post-proposal nightlife.
County Center/Little Italy: Steps from Waterfront Park and the harbor.
Old Town: Again a great intersection for heritage, restaurants, and walkability.
Proposal Spot: Waterfront Park — a wide open space with fountains, palm-lined paths, and bay views.
3. Orange Line – Downtown to El Cajon
Overview: Often less crowded, this route gives you more flexibility and quiet stops that work beautifully for couples looking for privacy.
Best Stops:
12th & Imperial Transit Center: Great central location to switch between lines.
Lemon Grove Depot: Bright, artsy platform with local murals and a relaxed vibe.
Proposal Spot: Balboa Park — Accessible via a quick ride-share from 5th Ave Station. Propose in the rose garden or in front of the Botanical Building for an iconic photo backdrop.
Each line offers the opportunity to build an itinerary that’s personal. Choose stops based on where you met, your first date, or somewhere entirely new that will become a forever memory.

Cake Smash Birthday Photoshoots: Capturing the Sweetest First Milestone in Southern California
Looking to celebrate your baby’s first birthday with a cake smash photoshoot in Temecula, San Diego, Riverside, Palm Springs, Orange County, or Los Angeles? This blog shares the story behind one of our favorite milestone sessions—complete with tips on how to prepare, how we handled minimal communication, and why bringing a cake “just in case” turned into the sweetest decision. We’ll also highlight the best cake smash photography locations in Southern California, including scenic parks, wineries, beaches, and gardens perfect for your little one’s big day. Whether you’re planning ahead or booking last minute, our cake smash birthday sessions are designed to capture every joyful, messy, frosting-filled moment in a photo-worthy setting near you.
There’s something incredibly magical about a baby’s first birthday. It's not just a milestone—it’s a celebration of surviving that first whirlwind year of life, love, and learning. And what better way to mark this moment than with a cake smash birthday photoshoot? If you’re a parent, aunt, uncle, or grandparent in Temecula, Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, or Orange County, a cake smash session is more than just adorable—it’s a core memory in the making.
The Joy of Cake Smash Photography
Cake smash photography is exactly what it sounds like: a joyful, messy, fun-filled session where your little one gets to literally smash a cake while we capture every sticky, sweet moment. It’s a popular trend for first birthday celebrations across Southern California and makes for unforgettable memories, birthday invitations, and keepsakes for years to come.
We had the honor of photographing a very special cake smash session—and like many real-world moments, things didn’t go exactly as planned. And that’s okay.
A Real-Life Cake Smash Story: Kiran’s Niece Turns One
We were contacted by Kiran through a popular booking app to photograph her niece’s first birthday. Due to everyone’s busy schedules, communication leading up to the shoot was minimal. No final ideas were confirmed, but when it comes to milestone moments, we believe it’s better to show up prepared than to show up perfect.
So—we brought a cake.
We also brought props. Just in case. Because everyone deserves a cake on their birthday, and we always want our clients to feel celebrated, even when plans are still taking shape.
When we met Kiran in person, we immediately got to work connecting with the birthday girl. Like all great toddler sessions, the first few minutes are about building trust—not posing. Her family was wonderful and played a huge role in helping us gain her attention, comfort, and smiles. With teamwork, laughter, and a little frosting, we were able to capture some truly sweet moments that told the story of her first big celebration.
We specialize in last-minute photography with fast turnaround and beautiful results.

A Modern Fairytale: Quinceañera Photography at Kimberly Crest Mansion in Redlands, CA

In this blog, we’ll guide you through the best photo spots at Kimberly Crest, how to easily book your photo permit, and how to make the most of your session—whether you're coming from Riverside, Yucaipa, Banning, Calimesa, Beaumont, or beyond. Plus, we’ll share how to tie your quinceañera or birthday celebration into a full Redlands experience with great local dining and our exclusive Summer Photography Package. Every quinceañera deserves to feel like royalty—and in the heart of Redlands, nestled against the hillside and surrounded by lush gardens, sits a mansion that brings that vision to life. Whether you're celebrating a traditional quinceañera or putting a modern spin on your birthday look, this iconic location helps transform every photo into a storybook moment.
One of our favorite styling ideas came from Amy, who decided to repurpose her quinceañera gown for a styled birthday shoot. Rather than keeping her dress tucked away after her quince, she leaned into the elegance of Victorian fashion and Bridgerton-inspired details. The soft colors, flowing fabrics, and regal presence of Kimberly Crest paired beautifully with her vision, creating a dreamy, editorial feel. It’s a perfect example of how your quinceañera dress doesn’t have to be worn just once—it can become a part of your ongoing story.

And sometimes, all of those elements come together in one powerful image that reminds you: this is what matters.

Prospect Park: Where Family and Pet Photography Come to Life
Located at 1352 Prospect Dr, Redlands, CA 92373, Prospect Park feels like something out of a painting. The wide dirt paths are hugged by lush greenery. Pergolas stretch across open walkways with vines that wrap around like nature’s own framing. There’s a hilltop viewpoint perfect for wide scenic shots, and cozy spots under the trees where dogs can cool off while the kids run wild.
When we shoot here, we let the natural flow of your family guide us. That might mean dad tossing the ball for the dog while the kids sneak up for a surprise group hug. Or maybe it’s the family walking together, hands and leashes intertwined, laughing about who’s actually leading the way. Every session is different—and that’s what we love most.
Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Shoot
To make your Father’s Day photography session in Redlands something special, we always suggest:
Golden hour timing: Book your session about 1–2 hours before sunset. The light during this time is soft and flattering—especially for fur and skin tones.
Pack smart: Treats for pets, water for kids, maybe a lint roller and a backup outfit. You’d be surprised how often we end up on the ground getting that perfect angle.
Be in the moment: The best photos aren’t posed. They’re real. They’re the nose boops, the tickles, the muddy shoes, and the head tilts.
We’ll guide you through gentle prompts and natural poses that keep you relaxed and having fun. And if your pup decides halfway through that the squirrels are more interesting than us? We’ll roll with it.

More Scenic Spots in Redlands for Follow-Up Shoots
Prospect Park isn’t the only beauty in town. If you fall in love with Redlands (and you probably will), here are a few nearby gems to explore for future photos:

For Nearby Families: Why Redlands is Worth the Drive
If you're living in surrounding cities like Riverside, Corona, Moreno Valley, Yucaipa, or Beaumont, Redlands is just a quick drive away—but it feels like an escape. It offers the charm of a small town with the photo-worthy locations of a much bigger city.
Families from Calimesa, Banning, and Highland love how peaceful it feels without sacrificing convenience. And if you're visiting from Big Bear, Arrowhead, or Crestline, this is the perfect way to get out of the mountains for the day and enjoy an open, sun-drenched setting without the snow gear.
A Father’s Day Session That’s Actually About Him
This isn’t about matching outfits and stiff poses. It’s about the way he laughs when the dog jumps up mid-photo. The way he carries the baby on his shoulders or tries to act like he doesn’t love being covered in kids and fur—but he totally does. These moments deserve to be framed, shared, and passed down.
This year, let’s capture a Father’s Day that actually feels like your family. Messy, playful, joyful, real.
